I’m a director who believes in actors first. You can’t always count on having intricate lighting systems or state of the art projection, but you will certainly have actors. High quality of expression, intricate behavior and expressive blocking, action, humanity on display are the elements on which I build a theatrical experience. Everything else, sound, lights, set, is an embellishment to a story that is told LIVE by REAL people.

Theatre is entertainment! Just to pass time enjoyably is a worthy goal for a play, but entertainment can also serve a purpose. It can give us hope, or help us to consider a different way forward, it can inspire us to love and teach us to forgive and grow. The best plays stay in your mind not just because they were cool or exciting or spectacular, but because they touch something inside you and give you a touchstone to carry forward as you continue to live.
